PP2C5 is a member of the PP2C family phosphatases. It acts as a MAPK phosphatase that positively regulates seed germination, stomatal closure and ABA-inducible gene expression. The PP2C5 protein colocalizes and directly interacts with stress-induced MPK3 (AT3G45640), MPK4 (AT4G01370), and MPK6 (AT2G43790), predominantly in the nucleus.
