DOG1 belongs to a novel plant-specific gene family whose members include: DOG1-like 1-4 (DOGL1-4, AT4G18660, AT4G18680, AT4G18690, AT4G18650 respectively) and DOG1. DOG1 was recently identified as a major regulator of dormancy in Arabidopsis thaliana.
