Background:

LRR1 is a Leucine-rich repeat protein kinase family protein. The LRR protein LRR1 of Capsicum annuum contains five tandem repeats of a 24 amino acid LRR motif, through which it makes contact with pepper hypersensitive induced reaction 1 (HIR1) and other factors. HIR1 (AT5G62740) and LRR1 regulate plant cell death associated with disease and plant immunity.
