Background:

TIC22-III is a Tic22-like family protein. It is involved in protein precursor import into chloroplasts. There are two Tic22 homologues, termed atTic22-III(AT3G23710) and atTic22-IV( AT4G33350), both of which are predicted to localize in chloroplasts.
