Background:

Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 4 (MKK4) is involved in the second phase of hydrogen peroxide generation during hypersensitive response-like cell death. It activates by phosphorylation the downstream MPK3 (AT3G45640) and MPK6 (AT2G43790).
